Desired Results Access Project

With a 'benefits of social media' Powerpoint presentation, I helped pursuade our leadership to pursue a slow onboarding to social media, beginning with Pinterest, as the typical clientele was females 40 plus. This also hit our target audience of California teachers, many of whom had accounts online in their capacity as special education teachers, and were already sharing custom solutions to classroom adaptations for young children with a variety of disabilities.

My next choice was Facebook for the sheer number of online teacher-based groups on the FB platform. However, out of the same conservative fear mentioned above, we instead went with Twitter. I was happy to oblige as any online presence was a positive move in my book. The two visual examples at left show our Pinterest and Twitter feeds and the types of content I curated and posted, along with customized graphics to best accompany the story.

Lastly, for Desired Results Access Project, was the work I did on our learning management system. I produced several mockups of the LMS dashboard, suggested different widgets to utilize in the interface, and set up email templates within the course-based system.

Family Caregiver Alliance

The leadership at FCA, while also a bit wary of the potential for negative commenting on a social media page we might create, were more open to starting with Facebook to establish our audience, the most likely platform for connecting with family caregivers. We moved quickly on to Youtube as we had quite a few videos on caregiving to share with our users. Understanding innovation and new technology is key to marketing and reaching newer audiences as time progresses.
